June 2010 -- Spanish Bank Tidal Flats, Vancouver, BC
An early morning low tide on a sunny Monday draws me down to the tidal flats on the Spanish Bank. I wade through waist-high water to get to the sand bar in time to enjoy the shananigans of two adult and two juvenile bald eagles.
The four bald eagles take turns sitting on the sand, fishing and jostling each other as the tide turns quickly then starts rushing back. One by one the eagles evacuate.
I've already started on my way back to shore when two juveniles decide to have a little sky dance quite close by me.
